I find it appropriate to write about 9/11 since today happens to be 9/11. It has been six years since the attacks, and this took place when most of you were only nine or ten-years-old. I, on the other hand, was much older than that! I felt strongly when it happened, I still think about what an awful tragedy that was, and I fear for another one. My questions to you are: Do you feel the same? Is it difficult for you to really comprehend the magnitude of the attacks since you were so young when it happened? Has your view on that day changed since you’ve grown a bit older?
Answer the following questions, add some of your own opinions in, and make it an interesting and insightful post. I’m looking forward to reading what you have to say!

When I was litlle,I really didn’t know what was going on. My parents told me that people blew up the World Trade Center. My mom told me that a family friend was in the Pentagon. I really thought that the world was going to end, but six years later it didn’t. When I got older and saw Farenheit 911 it made me mad sometimes to think that Bush could have stopped 911 from ever happening.

When I think about 9-ll, I mostly remember that when it happened my mom and dad were in Hawaii. They got stuck there for a few extra days, it was horrible. I feel very sorry for all of the people who had died that day and all of the families who have lost someone on that day. I am glad to live in America where we have freedom in so many ways. I think president Bush did the right thing by defending that freedom because he wanted to not let the terrorists get away with what they did! I don’t think that Bush could have stopped 9-11 from happening because he did not know ahead of time of what the terrorists were going to do. That is just my opinion.

I love that Mary and Doug don’t agree with eachother! It’s great to see opposing views and both of them defend their views. Great job both of you! We’ll see what everyone else has to say.

911..hmm well what i can remember is that i was in 5th grade and did not really know what was going on.All i know is that i had to stay at school for a couple extra hours. Now when i think about it,it makes me upset because a lot of people lost there lives and a lot of people got badly hurt. The only thing that really scares me now is that the war will go on for a long time and they will draft people i care about. i heard things about bush knowing about the attacks but I’m not going to say he could or couldn’t of stopped them.Yes, it is still hard to understand what exactly happened that day. I never really wanted to hear about it . Its just to sad and horrible for our country to have to deal with when were already dealing with bad people in this world.

My feelings on 9/11 are nonrelevent.I think its stupid to reduce the lives who were taken to a blog, and deffinetly inapproperiate. But since nobody will read this except a teacher trying to get a rise out of me It dose not matter what I write.I can’t stop what happend.Ask me how I feel how dare you? I don’t know if Bush had something to do with the attack or not.To Me it makes no diffrance sice the people are still dead.Quite frankley if you really need to know I hate whole damn thing. As far the war goes I never agree with it.I believe that if people felt the same loss for anyone as they did a close friend or family member, human history would be alot less bloody.

OK, so some things for everyone to consider:
1) Please don’t swear on the blog.
2) Please remember this is for SCHOOL so use the correct capitalization (I, not i) and PLEASE look over your spelling before you post it!!
3) I understand that you may not agree with the reason I’m having you do this and you may not like the topic for the week, however it’s mandatory. I disagree with some things you say and do sometimes, but I bring it to your attention in a respectful way. Respect is the key.

P.S. Ian–I really like the last sentence of your comment. I agree. People don’t have much empathy anymore.

First I’d like to agree with Ian. When 9/11 happened I was kinda young to realy understand what happened. I was in 4th grade at the time. the teacher stoped the whole class and turned on the news. when I got home it was real quiet for a long time after that day.

Mrs. Styles,
I’m glad that you discussed 9/11. I was a young English teacher at the time(sort of) and i remember the day clearly. We as a class watched as the tower fell. I remember a student in my class asking if anyone died. I responded with. “yes. I think thousands.” Unfortunately, my guess was accurate.
A few hours later, I was driving my infant son home and listening to the reports on the radio. My world had changed but yet my 10 month old son stared at me and smiled oblivious to the tragedy the rest of the world dealt with. I pulled the truck over and wept. I will not soon forget that day or how lucky I am to have my beautiful family safe.

I think I would know about this quote because I’m a person that doesn’t like to meet others. This is because I’m shy or I think meeting more people would just cause more drama in my life. I find that most people……most people are just wierd. I mean they’re crazy or just messed up and call me Emo. I don’t care what others think actually think because I can be good also. It seems like I lost half my friends, but not really. It’s just that I have only one really good friend out of school and sometimes he’s not even around.
